The Making of a Terrorist

Svoray says that what causes young men and women to become terrorists is their desire to do something with there life. Most of them come from lives where they haven't made much of themselves or there lives are boring so when they are given a chance to do something else and travel and make money, they take that opportunity. Most of these young men and women see it as a glamorous life where they do the job and get a big reward and they aren't aware of there actions. As stated in the story, most of these young men and women are stupid and don't realize what they are doing. They are just simply following orders and if they don't follow through on that order then worse consequences will come from it.

End of the Year Survey

This year in world civ, I learned what started World War II because I didn't know this before. My favorite thing we did in class all year was building the bridges. I feel that some subjects that we have learned in previous years of social studies could be left out such as the detials of certain wars and especially the industrial revolution because I have been taught these things every year in school and its already knowledge to me that I don't think needs to be given to me again. I think that extra time on assignments was a hindurance because the longer time we are given to complete an assignment, the more i forget about it and i end up forgetting to do it before the due date.

Affidavit Given at Nuremberg

He felt guilty about his actions so he confessed about putting 11 million people to there deaths. Because of his actions he was hung for his confessional. If he did not feel sorry for his involvement in these deaths then he mostl likely would have continued on with his awful actions.

Destruction of The Berlin Wall

The Berlin Wall prevented people from interacting with each other and seeing each other. Many people were upset by the berlin wall being put up. Made people have to sneak around to see each other and secretly see there family. They had to do this without people figuring out. They had to see each other through the glass fields.

Memos on the Aims of Germany and Japan

The similarities between both memos from Douglas Miller and Joseph Grew is that both of these authors of the memos want whats best for there country and let there country be independent. They try to make peace with all other countries without hurting there own. Also, both authors want there country to be the best and biggest it can be, no matter the cost and they won't back down from doing what they can for there country.

Nonviolence

The statement, "the hardest fiber must melt in the fire of love" means that those who are not open to love and are violent in the presence of love will melt in love because in some way love will find them and they will protect that love instead of using violence. I think in some ways nonviolence can be effective and i also think it would be harder to make it effective compared to violence. In ways nonviolence is more accepted by people but those who are violent see it as a way to be violent towards those who try to be nonviolent. Nonviolence is calmer and more peaceful way of getting what you want compared to those who solve problems with guns and fists and even after a fight the problem is not resolved. As compared to nonviolence whereas if you don't be violent while resolving the problem and if you do so then the problem will be fixed and grudges won't be held against like if you use violence to hurt someone they will get revenge against you even after you think the problem is resolved.

WWI Poems

The poem, In Flanders Fields, I got powerful emotions because the poem was powerful and had a lot of meaning behind it and told a story in just a few sentences. The poem, Zeppelins, the emotions i had were that war comes with great consequences and the author wrote about it with powerful words . In my opinion both of these poems are about heartache in war and what it can bring to people and what life is like during war and what happens after you die. The message of these poems are that soldiers have fought for what they want and in most cases they lose and haertache follows and sometimes death.
